About ENTSO-E
ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description
We are looking for a motivated student with engineering and power systems background to join the Flexibility team of the Market and Operations Section of ENTSO-E. The intern will enhance and apply her/his knowledge by contributing to the Probabilistic Risk Assessment, performing contingency assessment on power system models. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in developing technical skills as well as project management and collaborative competencies.
Preferred starting date is September 2025, for a duration of 6 months.
Key objectives of the internship:
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Contribute to the analysis and simulation of power system models.
- Analyse and interpret simulation results, in collaboration with ENTSO-E experts.
- Support the team in developing reports based on the collected data and analysis.
- Contribute in meetings and discussions with insights and recommendations based on the analysis of simulation results.
Specific responsibilities may be finetuned together with the student.
Your profile
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Studying towards a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, applied physics or a related field.
- Genuine interest on technical matters and innovative skills.
- Previous experience in the energy sector (e.g. previous internships) and/ or demonstrated interest in the energy sector, would be considered an asset.
- Be familiar with Python, Power Factory and/or PSSE and power system modelling.
- Ability to organize own work and establish priorities.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
Requirements
The candidate should:
- Be eligible to reside in EU (meaning EU citizen or valid residence card).
- Be a full-time student. The internship must be issued by your university as part of your studies.
- Have a personal (also provided by university) health insurance valid for Belgium during the period of the internship.
- Be able to sign an internship agreement with the university.
- Agree on exact length of the internship and schedule (full time or part time).
