General position description
The successful candidate will support the Legal Section of the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, comprising about 9 permanent staff (Legal Managers and Legal Advisors), led by ENTSO-E Head of Legal Section.
He or she will support the Legal Section, working also with staff of the other Sections, as well as the Legal and Regulatory Group’s (LRG) members. The LRG comprises lawyers from the TSOs members and its main objective to ensure high legal and regulatory quality and consistency in all ENTSO-E activities.
Specific responsibilities and tasks
The successful applicant is expected to:
- provide support to the Legal Managers and Legal Advisors related to the implementation, monitoring and amendment of the Network Codes and Guidelines;
- provide support to the Legal Managers and Legal Advisors related to the drafting of the Network Codes and Guidelines’ terms and conditions or methodologies;
- provide support to the Legal Managers and Legal Advisors related to the interpretation and implementation of the Clean Energy Package;
- conduct legal research on an ad-hoc basis, providing input for legal analysis and legal memos.
The above tasks may include transversal interaction with the work of other Secretariat Sections; cooperation with the members of the LRG; project management support.
Specific responsibilities may vary over time.
Profile
The ideal candidate is someone who developed legal curiosity, innovative thinking skills and is interested in technical matters. Furthermore, you have the following:
- Pursuing a university degree in Law with specialization in European Law, including preferably specialisation in Energy Law.
- Previous experience in the energy sector (e.g. previous internships) and/ or demonstrated interest in energy law, would be considered an asset.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to plan and organise, to manage multiple projects and to establish priorities.
- Team player, result-oriented and able to work autonomously.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Requirements
The candidate should:
- Be eligible to reside in EU (meaning EU citizen or valid residence card).
- Be a full-time student. The internship has to be issued by your university as part of your studies.
- Have a personal (also provided by university) health insurance valid for Belgium during the period of the internship.
- Sign an internship agreement with your university.
- Agree on exact length of the internship and schedule (full time or part time).
