The Visual Arts Assistant proactively assists the Arts Faculty members and takes a part in the development of the Visual Arts curriculum. The role covers students from the Middle and High School and reports to the Head of the High School, notably responsible for the school’s Arts Programme.
Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Promote, document and communicate student artwork with the ISB community and beyond (ISB Portal, Website and Social Media).
- Work in close collaboration with Visual Arts Teachers and the ISB Communications team.
- Photograph Visual Arts events, the Learning Processes taking place in the classrooms and student art works.
- Manage a Student Art Archive in each division.
- Organize the storage and ordering of art supplies.
- Prepare materials for classes.
- Ensure that the arts equipment is catalogued and safe.
- Co-organize and chaperone art excursions.
- Coordinate visiting artists and scholars.
- Manage the MS Student Curatorial Programme.
- Curate and install Student Art Exhibitions.
Specific Qualifications and Skills:
Technical
- Suitable education in the Visual Arts.
- Experience with Digital, Graphic & Motion Design.
- Experience with Art Materials.
- Ideally, able to demonstrate a good understanding of and commitment to ISB’s approaches to learning and teaching Visual Arts as articulated on the school’s website under “teacher profile”
