About ENTSO-E
ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description
Join the dynamic team of ENTSO-E and actively support the energy transition by facilitating the connection of new producers and consumers to the grid. As a Grid Connection Specialist, you will have a key role in the association’s work in the area of connection network codes, supporting the related workplan and the associated teams. You will closely cooperate with TSO members and collaborate with all relevant ENTSO-E colleagues across all sections. You will contribute to stakeholder interactions such the European Commission, the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and others.
You will work within the Flexibility Team, which is comprised of 6 staff members and is embedded in the Market and Operations section, consisting of 35 people. The Flexibility team focuses on ENTSO-E projects related to developing and maintaining European operational framework, through connection network codes/guidelines, agreements, standards and methodologies. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of connection network codes and you will have the opportunity to work closely with the System Development Committee of ENTSO-E.
The role is based in ENTSO-E’s office in Brussels with up to 3 days of remote work per week in Belgium. Regular travelling may be required.
Your responsibilities
You will contribute to the Association work mainly in the areas of connection network codes. Responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the evolution of priorities and projects.
- Coordinate and provide support to the team that is responsible for technical guidance, monitoring and compliance verification activities of connection network codes:
- Organise meetings (agenda preparation, minutes of meeting, documentation, follow-up of actions, etc.).
- Develop and monitor the implementation of the annual workplan.
- Support related team projects and manage associated budget and contracts.
- Manage in-house tools for gathering data from the TSOs through their network codes representatives, towards the development of internal reports and the fulfilment of ACER requests. Assist TSOs with information dissemination and technical queries.
- Ensure an efficient and transparent communication of all relevant information towards various ENTSO-E bodies (e.g. Board, Assembly, Committees, etc.).
- Manage regular interactions with stakeholders, incl. ACER, the European Commission, standardization bodies and energy associations. Assist in organising stakeholder meetings and events.
- Contribute to other cross-section projects and activities of the Association.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:
- University degree in engineering, applied physics or relevant, with 3-5 years of experience in the electricity sector.
- Good understanding of the TSO business.
- Experience in EU network codes or standardisation is considered an asset.
- Good organization and planning skills, with experience in supporting technical projects.
- Experience in explaining and clarifying complex problems to diverse audience such as policy makers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with ability to build consensus. The working language of the association is English.
- Proactive and flexible with a service-oriented attitude, in line with ENTSO-E values.
