Events Manager

Our events team is expanding and we are seeking a highly motivated Events Manager with the passion, energy and vision to deliver the most innovative and engaging events.

The Events Manager plays a key role in enhancing our reputation and influence by providing well-organised and smooth running, professional events. Delivering to a high standard, managing costs and contractual requirements is an essential element of the Events Manager’s responsibilities.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
As Events Manager you will be responsible for:
- Managing the logistics for a portfolio of events while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
- Managing the central FOE agenda of events (selecting dates for events, identifying and managing third parties linked in particular to event venues, event logistics and catering partners etc).
- Contributing to the events strategy as well as processes and procedures.
- Prepare event project briefs and planning schedules for each event.
- Liaising with, booking suppliers and managing costs.
- Briefing and coordinating staff and suppliers before and during the events and providing on-the-job training to programme managers, executives and trainees when needed.
- Coordinating the preparation of materials/publications/presentations needed for the events.
- Managing the administrative part after the events, such as analysis, statistical reporting, financial report, follow-up on improvement actions, etc.
- Being an active team player, working in tandem and back-up with colleague Event Manager and others.
- Executing any tasks and responsibilities commensurate with this position as required by the organisation.
- Driven by the objective to remain an innovative trendsetter when it comes to online, physical or hybrid debates.
This is a full-time employee position that reports directly to the Communication & Events Director.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- 2 to 4 years in a similar role.
- A practical technical knowledge of sound & vision (remote presentation software & tools).
- Knowledge of hybrid events is a plus.

- Ability to plan and deliver against short deadlines.
- A genuine interest in working for a think tank, i.e., non-profit and civil society sectors.
- Ability to think in an out-of-the box manner providing trendsetting and innovative events.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast moving high-pressure environment.
- Able to support events also early mornings and evenings, as well as abroad.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
